BLG Secures Settlement in Minority Members LLC Mediation
November 2024
Business Law Group was successful in settling a shareholder oppression case that involved a three member Louisiana limited liability company. The Managing Member terminated the other two members from the Company at which point it was suspected he had stolen money from the Company. BLG filed suit on claims of breach of fiduciary duty against the Managing Member, breach of contract, and a derivative action on behalf of the Company to recover stolen amounts. After engaging a forensic accountant to determine how much money had been stolen or improperly distributed, BLG was able to negotiate a six figure settlement for the minority members and the sale of their minority membership interests to the Managing Member.
